Greencastle catches 'Deadliest' star 16.02.11

'DEADLIEST Catch' star Corey Arnold is to visit the fishing village of Greencastle for the opening of a special photography exhibition.
Arnold who is also a photographer, will give a presentation on his life on a Bering Sea crab vessel, salmon fishing in Alaska as well as his more recent travels on fishing boats across nine European countries.
The event is part of the launch of An Taisce's Clean Coast Photography Award Exhibition Roadshow at the Inishowen Maritime Museum. The local museum will then host the exhibition for two weeks before it moves on to other locations nationwide.
Maritime museum manager, Gemma Havlin, said people could look forward to an entertaining evening.
"The photography exhibition has some wonderful images of the spectacular coastline

around Ireland. After his presentation, Corey Arnold will be available to meet the public and sign copies of his new book 'Fishwork: The Bering Sea'," she explained.
An Taisce's Annabel McLoone will also be giving information on the organisation's Clean Coast Programme which promotes a grass-root approach to conserving Ireland's coastline.
The Clean Coast Photography Competition was launched in June last year as part of the An Taisce's Coca-Cola Clean Coast Week. The theme was 'Essence of the Coast - What the Coast Means to Me' and it had a prize fund of 3,000 euro. One of the overall winners was Inishowen-based Andy McInroy for his dramatic photograph of sea swells around Fanad Lighthouse.
Ms McLoone said 500 photographs with scenes from Fanad to the Skelligs were sumbitted to the competition. The exhibition will be launched on Wednesday, March 2, at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome.
