JACK continues to be
Donegal's favourite name for baby boys. But Chloe
has replaced Aoife and Katie as the most popular
girl's name. Jack has been the most chosen name for
baby boys in the county for the last two years while
Oisin was favourite in 2008. It's a more changeable
picture for little girls with Chloe the favourite
name last year in the county compared to Aoife in
2009 and Katie in 2008. Nationally, Jack and Sophie
were the most popular names registered last year.
Jack retains the top position it has held nationally
since 2007 while Sophie keeps the number one spot it
first got in 2009. Around the country too, there
were four first-time entries to the top 100 for
boys, namely, Tyler, Sebastian, Daithi and Alfie.
And three new entries to the top 100 for baby girls
were Lilly, Sofia and Lena. |
