THE youth wing of
Fianna Fáil in Inishowen is looking for new members
to help rebuild the party from the grassroots.
Inishowen Ógra will hold its AGM in Buncrana this
evening and anyone interested in joining is
encouraged to attend.
Acting chairperson Gemma McGrory said: "On a
national scale, Fianna Fáil in general are
undertaking a process of regeneration and Ógra will
be central to this.
Ógra Fianna Fáil is the largest youth political
group in the country and plays a pivotal role in
forming and shaping Fianna Fáil policy on a range of
issues that pertain to young people in Ireland
today."
But it's not all party politics. "Ógra gives young
people the opportunity to voice their opinions on
various issues that concern or trouble them. It
provides a forum not just to discuss these issues
but also to work together with Fianna Fáil in order
to change them.
"As well as this there is also a lively social
aspect to Ógra and members have the opportunity to
take part in various events from policy workshops to
summer barbeques and everything here and in
between." Ógra caters for young people in the 16-26
year age group.
The Inishowen branch was originally established in
2008. The AGM will be held in the Inishowen Gateway
Hotel this evening, Thursday, July 7 at 8pm. If you
