It's going, going, again...
14.06.11
LEO McCauley will bring
the gavel down on his second old-style auction in
Moville this Saturday.
The local auctioneer said he was delighted with the
reaction to his first auction earlier in the year.
"We revived this type of auction last March and we
were very encouraged by the response, so were hoping
this one will be even bigger," he said.
"People seem to enjoy the day out and it's a great
way to raise extra money from what's in your attic
or spare room."
Leo is a third generation auctioneer and estate
agent and has extensive knowledge of buying and
selling. His late father, James, and grandfather,
Denis, ran auctions in the old Market House (now the
site of the Town Clock) periodically down through
the years. |

Leo McCauley assisted
by Mary Elizabeth Doyle at the auction back in
March. |
"We've done auctions
over the years, mostly house clearances, but it is
many years since there was a 'catch all' type of
auction. "We’ve already got in many items ranging
from small ornaments to large pieces of furniture
and electrical and household goods.
"Auctions were a way of life for generations gone by
and whether you're a seller or a buyer, it should be
a great day out for everyone."
Anyone wishing to buy or sell an item or items
should check out the list at
www.mccauleyproperties.com . The auction will
take place at Moville Business Park on Saturday,
June 18, at 11am. |
