INISHOWEN rural
dwellers are being invited to a public meeting to
discuss the planned introduction of septic tank
registration fees.
The meeting is being organised by Sinn Féin and will
be addressed by local councillor, Jack Murray and
Deputy Pádraig MacLochlainn.
“I would encourage everyone who is concerned about
this anti-rural tax to come and hear Sinn Féin’s
view on the matter and our alternative to the
charges," said Cllr Murray.
“The meeting will also outline how rural dwellers
can play their part in putting pressure on the
Government before the septic tank legislation goes
before the Dáil in the coming weeks.
“Septic tank charges will become one of the most
serious issues facing hard pressed families in the
coming months. It is vital that we do everything in
our power to prevent these stealth taxes from going
ahead," he added.
The meeting will take place on Monday, September 19,
at 7.45pm in The Colgan Hall, Carndonagh. |
