Burst pipes repaired at local hall
31.01.11
THE people of Burt are
delighted their community hall is reopening today
after the completion of repairs caused by burst
pipes.
St Mary’s Hall was one of the victims of the icy
winter weather but from this evening, it will be
"business as usual" at the local centre.
Edel Concannon is looking forward to welcoming back
her Irish Dancers on Monday from 5pm to 6pm; Dr
Shea's Surgery is back (0749156386); Sheena and the
Red Cross Group (7.30pm) and Burt Bingo (9.00pm)
will be back on, on Tuesday. The set dancers will be
in action again on Thursday nights, from 7.30pm
to9pm as will the St Vincent de Paul Maths grinds. |

Many will be
disappointed, however, to see the departure of
popular local woman Kathleen Grant who has been
indefatigable in the running of the hall in recent
years.
"Sad to say, Kathleen Grant, who has looked after
the hall and its users so well in recent years, is
stepping down as caretaker. She will be greatly
missed and we wish her well in the coming months,"
said a spokesperson.
From Monday, if any group or individual wishes to
book St Mary's Hall, they are asked to contact
Colette on 086 3773671. |
