THIS year will see the 100th anniversary of
Tiernasligo National School in Urris, Clonmany.
A series of events are planned for late August when
there will be a Mass, a concert and several other
events. Principal Colm Davies said the school was
looking forward to the celebrations.
He said: “The centenary has been organised by the
Parents Association and there will a series of
events held to mark the occasion.
“I have been principal here for the past nine years
and it is a great occasion for the school.”
He added: “As far as I am aware the school has been
on the same site since it was first opened.
“I know that the Parents Association are hoping to
hear from past pupils with their memories of the
school and its rich history.” |
