THE Urris Community Development group has recently completed stage two of their ‘Welcome to Urris’ project and have erected a second bi-lingual welcome rock at Mamore Gap.
The group again called on the services of local volunteer stone masons, Richie Dick, Charlie Hagan, Neil Jimmy Sean and labourers Paul Kelly and John Joe Doherty with a little help from committee members. Thomas McConway also gave his digger and his time freely. The new rock was also once again engraved free of charge by Devlin Memorials, Bridgend.

Chairperson Paul McLaughlin reiterated the development group's immense gratitude to the volunteers. "The committee would like to thank all those who have volunteered their services, time and effort, it is greatly appreciated. We are having a summer break and will be back in the late autumn refreshed with more projects to work on. Anyone who has any ideas can contact any committee member."
The Urris Community Development group continues to build on the work it has done so far. Meanwhile, Inishowen TDs Padraig MacLochlainn and Charlie McConalogue, and county councillors, John Ryan and Rena Donaghey, have also been credited with helping to get part-funding for the association for a second year. The group and volunteers were out in force again last Saturday in their latest litter clean-up.
