Calling Inishowen Irish dancers

TALENTED Irish dancers
from Inishowen are being invited to take part in a
competition to become 'An Jig Gig' champion 2012.
The TG4 hit show is returning with a mission to find
the best traditional dancers in Ireland. |

and Labhrás Sonai Choilm Learraí. |
All forms of Irish
dancing are eligible for the series, from step
dancing to brush dancing, from Sean-nós dancing to
set dancing. "This is the ultimate free-for-all
Irish dance competition and a celebration of all the
Irish dancing traditions," said a spokesperson.
Only one act can be crowned champion and will claim
the title of TG4’s Best Traditional Irish Dance Act
2012.
Hosted by Róisín Ní Thomáin, the show will again see
hundreds of dancers take to the stage. |

Keeping a close eye on
all the talented hopefuls are three judges Breandán
de Gallaí, former lead dancer in Riverdance;
Dearbhla Lennon, also a former lead dancer in
Riverdance and Lord Of The Dance and champion Sean-nós
dancer Labhrás Sonai Choilm Learraí.
Alan Kenefick, the winner of An Jig Gig series 1 in
2009, recently went on to win Sky One's 'Got To
Dance' with his group Prodijig.

you can fill out the application form on the TG4
website
www.tg4.ie or call 01-2843877. All applicants
will be contacted to confirm a time and venue for
their audition. Auditions will take place nationwide
from June 8 - June 10.
The series will then be filmed in the RTÉ studios,
Dublin. |
