Denise's Big Apple adventure

A BURNFOOT woman and
her sister were among a party of 39 who won a luxury
trip to the Big Apple courtesy of RTE's Big Money
Game.
Denise Hegarty and her sister Mary travelled to New
York on September 28 for the fabulous six day break.
Denise and Mary who are from a family of eight won
the trip after their parents Mary and Eamonn collect
the USA stubs. |
Supermarket assistant
Denise was delighted as she had never visited New
York before.
They also enjoyed €2,500 spending money as part of
their prize which included a luxurious stay in the
Sofitel Hotel in Midtown Manhattan just a short
stroll from Times Square, the Empire State Building
and Fifth Avenue.They sailed across the Hudson
River, past the Statue of Liberty, to the famous
River Café where they enjoyed a delicious gala
dinner. The group visited Broadway where they
enjoyed the smash hit musical ‘Jersey Boys’ at the
August Wilson Theatre.
Another lucky Donegal winner was Caroline Doherty
from Letterkenny who took her daughter Sharon on the
trip of a lifetime.
Caroline and husband John purchased the scratch
cards hoping to find the stubs for the draw. It was
also Caroline's first visit to New York. |
