LETTERKENNY Youth
Information Centre is starting a number of free new
programmes and activities in the coming weeks.
The centre, which is managed by the Donegal Youth
Service, is offering programmes in drama, media and
community.
The Youth Drama Group group runs on Monday evenings
from 6-8pm and offers expert tuition in all aspects
of drama production and performance, while also
preparing the young people to produce a drama
themselves. The group tackle a range of youth
related issues will be working on a new piece, which
will take to the stage in December at the Regional
Cultural Centre.
The Youth Media Group is starting on Tuesday
evenings from 6-8pm and is open to anyone with an
interest in film making, radio, photography or print
journalism. The YIC now has access to broadcast
quality video cameras and lighting, as well as the
best of video and audio editing software.
The YIC Youth Action Group meets on Thursdays from
4.30pm and is an opportunity for anyone who wants to
make a real impact in their local community. The
group not only has a say in the type of work the
Youth Information Centre is involved in, but also
get plenty of opportunity to get their hands dirty,
organising events such as Party in the Car Park or
creating wall murals in the centre.
There is no cost involved in joining any of the
