Rubbish job for Donegal model
10.12.12
TOP Donegal model Faye Dinsmore has landed a rubbish
assignment as a judge of clothes made entirely from
junk.
The 24-year old catwalk queen has been named as one
of four judges in the Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion
Competition 2013.
The cross-border schools competition, sponsored by
the European Recycling Platform, challenges
secondary students to create weird and wonderful
outfits. Their creations can be made from any
recycled materials including old tyres, milk
cartons, fizzy drink cans, newspaper and even
leftover food.
Twenty-four year old catwalk queen Faye will be
joined on the judging panel this year by TV
presenter and stylist, Darren Kennedy, Art and
Design educator, Tracey Fahey and environmental
awareness expert, Yvonne Holmes. |

The four will be
looking for designs that excite, thrill and make
clever use of the stuff we normally throw in the
bin.
Competition co-founder Elizabeth O’Donnell from
Buncrana, expects Junk Kouture 2013 - now in its
third year- to be the best yet.
"Each of our four judges has been selected because
of their expertise in their diverse backgrounds,
which we feel provides an expansive judging panel to
this year competition entrants," she said. Last
year's winners included 'Re-juicing', a dress made
from orange peel and 'Warrior Knight', a costume
made entirely from Coca Cola cans.
Budding designers have until January 31, 2013 to
submit their entries with a prize pot totalling
€20,000 up for grabs. More information on
