Dunree Reserves...2 (Moran, J. Doherty) Gleneely Reserves...0 Report: Inishowen Independent. Dunree Reserves overcame Gleneely Reserves in the battle to avoid Inishowen’s 2012 wooden spoon last Sunday morning. Goals by Neil Moran and John Doherty helped the Desertegney men to a deserved victory and they now move seven points clear of Gleneely, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Reserve First Division. |

The home team got off to a
dream start when they broke the deadlock inside five
minutes. Neil Moran played a neat one, two with Gavin
McDaid before firing low past John Paul Houten from
fifteen yards. Dunree added a second on 34 minutes when Sean Doherty’s free was flicked home at the near post by John Doherty from eight yards. Gleneely’s best chance of the first period came on the stroke of half-time when Daniel McLaughlin’s twenty yards free was parried by Roger McGilloway but Thomas Browne’s follow up was cleared off the line by a combination of Frank Kelly and Stephen Cuffe. The start of the second-half was a quiet affair but the visitors were dealt a blow when Adrian Duffy was red carded for dissent on the hour mark. The Dunree second stringers dominated thereafter with Thomas Doherty having an effort well saved by Houten before, on 83 minutes, Gerry Farrell beat a defender on the right but his superb cross flashed across the face of goal and eluded everyone. On the stroke of full-time the home side almost added a third when Constantin Bamica was unlucky to see his effort crash off the post with Houten beaten. |
