Skies turn green for Paddy's Day
18.03.13
AS the world turned
emerald for St Patrick's Day, even Mother Nature
honoured the Irish patron saint with a spectacular
display of green in the Donegal skies.
Local photographer, Brendan Diver, captured the
unique Northern Lights phenomenon from the beach at
Ballyliffin last night as revellers celebrated the
annual feast day around the country. |

Weather conditions were
forecast to be perfect on the evening of March 17
for a display of the lights – also known as the
Aurora Borealis. And they didn’t disappoint, said
Brendan.
"An amazing natural show lit the Donegal skies green
on Saint Patrick’s night with the Northern Lights.
"Cities around the world colour their drink, rivers
and buildings green, but here in Donegal, we light
up our skies instead," said Brendan. |
