The brainchild of
Insight Inishowen vice chair, Denise Gallanagh Wood,
the event has brought “two weeks of sunshine
whatever the weather” for the last two years.
It brings together individuals, community groups,
local businesses, artists, schools and public sector
workers in a shared show of positivity from handing
out free cupcakes, to decorating trees and public
spaces with colourful, positive messages.
Denise said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive
this award. Feel Good Fortnight was fabulous and
that was because the whole community got on board.
This award is for all of us, for the committee and
for the dozens of volunteers and supporters who
helped to make (it) possible.
“This shows what is possible when people come
together to build happier and healthier
communities.”
Insight Inishowen will celebrate this special
achievement on Monday, December 9 in The Exchange,
Castle Avenue, Buncrana. All are welcome to the
event which will feature the premiere of the 2013
Feel Good Fortnight documentary film.
