"Extraordinary" Dubliner is Countdown 'Octochamp' 24.04.14

A DUBLINER has been crowned Countdown 'octochamp' after amassing a whopping 902 points over eight games.
Bristol-based Mark Murray also became the number one seed ahead of this summer’s quarter finals of the Channel 4 word-game show.
He had previously scored the season's highest score of 122 points on the popular programme last week.
Murray, who owns four border terriers, scored 100 points or more in every one of his eight games.
He clocked up 110 points yesterday against hair salon manager Simon Pinder (69pts) with words including 'feathers' and the nine-lettered 'mediators'.
The Irishman solved the majority of his numbers rounds and stunned viewers with the speed of his conundrum solving during his phenomenal eight-day run.

Surprisingly he missed his last conundrum but still sailed through to the number one slot.
Countdown presenter Nick Hewer described the young Dublin man’s performance as "extraordinary".
"A fantastic performance. We are very proud of you. Absolutely brilliant," said hewer.
