Ditch the hand-helds and hold hands 20.03.14

SMARTPHONES and tablets are getting turned on more often than fed-up Irish lovers.
Nearly half of men and women say they're not getting enough loving as their partners connect more with their hand-held devices than with them.
More than 1.6 million people in Ireland own a smartphone but one-in-five feel dissatisfied overall with their love lives as gadgets get in the way.
They now want their partners to ditch the laptop and download more desire.
A survey on the effects of modern technology on Irish love lives by Durex has been released to coincide with Earth Hour later this month.
Hold hands during Earth Hour on March 29.
The company is encouraging Irish couples to turn off their smartphones and turn on their partners when the lights are out during the eco-friendly event on March 29.
“Earth Hour provides the perfect opportunity for Irish couples to switch off for an hour and focus exclusively on reconnecting with each other," said Durex Ireland brand manager Riona Durkan.
Last year some 7,000 towns and cities around the world took part in Earth Hour by switching off all non-essential lights and gadgets.
The event, founded seven years ago, is designed to create awareness about environmental issues facing nature and the planet.
Earth Hour takes place this year on March 29 from 8.30pm - 9.30pm.
