SIX talented school
children have brushed off the competition from 500

sponsored by Finn Harps FC and Donegal Road Safety.
The category winners in the competition, that was
open to all primary schools in the county, were:
Kayla McDermott, Scoil Íosagáin, Buncrana; Carla
McDermott, Scoil Naomh Fiachra, Illistrin; Shane
McCaul, Clonmany N.S; Carley Sweeney, St
Bernadette’s School, Letterkenny; Mikaela McConnon,

Ceanainn.
Kayla, Carla, Shane, Carley, Mikaela and Niamh are
now off to Finn Park where the overall winner will
be unveiled at half time during the Finn Harps v
Shamrock Rovers match this Friday, May 2.
The winning piece will feature as an advertising
hoarding at Finn Park promoting road safety for the
current season.
Donegal Mayor Cllr Ian McGarvey praised all the
schools for "getting behind the initiative".
"We had over 500 entries and it is fantastic to see
our schools involved in promoting road safety with
our young people. Do make our roads safe by looking
out for each other, drive safely and let’s make our
contribution.” John Campbell of Finn Harps added:
“Harps are delighted to have the group winners as
their guests at the Shamrock Rovers match.
"We also look forward to unveiling the overall
winner on the night. As in other years the winning
overall entry will be on display at Finn Park for
the coming season as an 8ft x 4ft display.” |
