awareness
15.09.14
BUNCRANA disability
advocate Jennifer Doherty will take to the skies
tomorrow for a sponsored flight in aid of the
Donegal Centre for Independent Living.
Jennifer, who has been blind since birth and who
uses an assistance dog, will join co-worker Shane
Bradley for the flight near Belfast. The flight has
been organised in association with Aerobility.
"She will fly the plane to help raise much needed
funds and awareness of the Donegal Centre for
Independent Living where she receives her support
services," said a spokesperson.
"Disability Pride Group has teamed up with
Aerobility to make this possible, in the lead-up to
the disability pride event in Belfast."
Jennifer and Shane will take to the air at
Newtownards Airfield, Co Down on Tuesday, September
16 at 1.30pm.
"We need all the support, sponsorship and publicity
we can gain to help ensure this unique challenge is
worth it. If you feel you could raise some
sponsorship please contact DCIL on 0749128945 or
message us for more details on how to get involved." |
