O'Donnells mark Julia's 95th
birthday

SINGER Daniel O'Donnell
and family have quietly marked their late mother's
birthday by remembering their special moments
together.

been 95 years old on Tuesday last, July 15. |
Daniel's sister Margo
revealed that their mother would often get more than
300 birthday cards from fans and well-wishers all
over the world.
"I was so sad that I could not wish her 'Happy
Birthday' personally but I am sure she was
celebrating it with my Dad," said country star
Margo.
"My Mam loved getting cards and she would ring me to
tell me she was up on three hundred and would say
there is plenty more to come."
Meanwhile, Daniel's wife Majella is celebrating
being cancer free a year after her initial
diagnosis. The mother-of-two revealed she was first
told she had breast cancer on July 12, 2013. |

Majella underwent a
double mastectomy as part of her treatment seven
months later, in February this year. She said she
was now delighted to be back to full health.
"One year ago today (July 12) I was diagnosed with
breast cancer. Today I'm happy and healthy. Long may
it last," she tweeted.
Majella who publicly highlighted the issue of cancer
during her illness and raised hundreds of thousands
of euro in charity funding, has been receiving many
messages of good will.
Among them, Fine Gael T.D., Mary Mitchell O’Connor,
tweeted: “Am so glad you are doing so well. You have
been wonderful in how you dealt with your cancer and
have given hope to others.” |
