Be part of Donegal's 1916 Centenary 03.11.15

The Donegal 2016 Steering Committee is inviting local groups, organisations and individuals to be part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme.
The committee, which includes elected members, representatives of the public participation network and council staff, will host public information events throughout the county in November, for anyone interested in the local programme.
Ireland 2016 is a year-long programme of activity to commemorate the events of the 1916 Rising.
It is designed to reflect on the country's achievements as a democratic state over the last 100 years and to look towards Ireland’s future.
Some of the Donegal events include a new video artwork by renowned artist Willie Doherty commissioned in partnership with Nerve Centre, Derry, Kerlin Gallery Dublin and Matt's Gallery London; a 1916 Centenary Project exploring the relationship between Ireland and England through folk song and music; Allingham Festival Hedge School as part of the Allingham Arts Festival and a focus on the Irish language and culture - Foras Cultúir Uladh.
Information events will begin at 2pm at the following venues and dates: Monday 9th November at Carndonagh Public Services Centre; Tuesday 10th November at Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny; Wednesday 11th November at Donegal Public Services Centre; Monday 16th November at Milford Public Services Centre; Tuesday 17th November at County House, Lifford; Thursday 19th November at Dungloe Public Services Centre.
