Foyle Sailability to host
end-of-season event
04.08.15
FOYLE Sailability which
encourages people with disabilities to explore the
benefits of sailing will host its end-of-season
event later this week in Greencastle.
It will take place on Friday, August 7, from 12 noon
to 3pm as part of Greencastle Regatta.
"This has been a particularly exciting season and in
my opinion, our best season yet," said chairman
Cathal MacElhatton.
He said participant numbers had increased this year
while more awareness was created by the Round
Ireland Passage which saw local volunteers proudly
fly the Foyle Sailability flag as they sailed around
the entire Irish coast. |

Foyle Sailability was
launched in May 2013 by a group of people from
throughout the north west cross border region. It
aims to offer disabled people the opportunity to
sail in a bid to eradicate discrimination between
persons in the sport of sailing and in the wider
community and to comply with the principles of equal
opportunity.
Booking is essential for Friday's event via
foylesailability@gmail.com or by calling Foyle
Disability Resource Centre on 04871 26 6593. Group
bookings are also available. |
