THE Donegal public has
been urged to exercise extreme caution with
storm-force winds and flooding forecast for across
the county in the coming hours.
Donegal County Council staff are on standby to
respond in the event of emergencies.

Winds are forecast to
reach speeds of 130 km/h up to 150 km/h with the
highest risk in exposed areas. Rainfall of 25mm to
35mm is also expected.
"Members of the public should not place themselves
at risk on the road or on exposed areas like coasts
or hills and should ask themselves if they really
need to travel. It is likely that there will be some
traffic disruption from fallen trees and localised
flooding in areas," the council warned this
afternoon.
It said it would continue to monitor conditions with
staff on standby to respond to emergencies.
