MORE than 20 employers
and training organisations will set up stall in
Derry for the North West Job Fair this Thursday.
The day-long event is free and will give job seekers
and people looking to change career a chance to meet
employers face to face, receive career advice and
learn job hunting skills.
Among the exhibitors will be Apex Housing
Association; Fujitsu; JD Sports and the North West
Regional College. Support organisations attending
will include Kick Start to Work and the Careers
Service.
The event is organised by the Department of
Communities in conjunction with the local council.
Mayor of the city, Cllr Hilary McClintock encouraged
people to "seize the opportunities on offer".
“This is a particularly effective event because it
brings employers, support organisations and
jobseekers together under one roof,” said Alderman
McClintock.
“Whether you are unemployed or considering a change
of career this event offers a one stop shop for your
employment needs.
“There is also a wide range of education and
training options to explore which could be
particularly useful in giving you the edge in what
is a very competitive local job market.” The North
West Job Fair will take place in the Millennium
Forum on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 10am - 3pm
and admission is free. |
