THE Prince of Wales and
the Duchess of Cornwall are to visit Donegal this
week as part of a three-day visit to the island of
Ireland.
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will visit the
county on Wednesday with engagements at iconic tweed
producer, Magee's of Donegal Town as well as
Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT).
The couple will also visit Glenveagh National Park
and hear about conservation work that is ongoing
there. The duchess, meanwhile, will visit a local
school in Letterkenny.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Ciaran
Brogan said the royal visit would be a chance to
"demonstrate first hand, excellent examples of
cross-border collaborative working and how this
approach has contributed to building positive and
productive relationships in a number of important
areas with our cross-border partners”.
Cllr Brogan will host the couple during a special
welcome reception at LYIT with invited guests from a
wide variety of sectors including youth, sport,
arts, culture, heritage, agriculture/aquaculture,
community/voluntary, business, tourism and the
Gaeltacht. |
