to Broadway
04.04.16
A TALENTED teenager is
hoping people in Inishowen will get behind her as
she bids to perform in a Broadway musical.
Una Morrison (18) who is from Derry and has strong
Moville connections, is the only Irish entrant out
of 200 American hopefuls in the 'Give A Girl Her
Chance' competition.
She needs as many votes as possible to make it
through the preliminary stage of the contest before
voting closes this Wednesday, April 6. |

The winner will get to
sing 'The Secret of Happiness' following a
performance of the Daddy Long Legs musical at the
Davenport Theatre in New York later this year.
Tony-Award winning director of Les Misérables, John
Caird, is the director of the musical, which is
based on the classic novel which inspired the Fred
Astaire movie of the 1950s.
"This is a massive dream of mine and if I get
through the preliminary round I may get a chance to
perform in New York," said Una, who has performed at
the Derry Feis many times. She said one of her
earliest performances as a child was in Carrowmenagh
Community Centre.
"Getting through the preliminary round stage is
entirely based on public votes. I am the only Irish
entrant into this competition," she added.
