Average Donegal wedding costs

THE average cost of
getting married in Co Donegal is just over 24,000,
according to a new survey.
It finds that a wedding in Donegal, including venue,
bridal gowns, groom's clothes, entertainment,
photography, flowers and many other costs stands at
24,360.
This puts Donegal in fifth place in the league table
which finds Co Wicklow is the dearest place to get
married at 24,870 and Co Offaly the cheapest at
20,930.
The average cost of an Irish wedding is now 23,605
- a 1,200 increase on last year, according to the
research, by social network website WeddingSocial.io.
Donegal is a favourite choice of destination for
brides and grooms from the North who have enjoyed
highly favourable currency exchange rates in recent
years.
At today's rate, the average 24,000 Donegal wedding
would cost a Sterling customer just over £18,700.
The survey was conducted using the wedding budgets
of 1,000 couples from across the Republic.
It found that July is the dearest month to get
married with February the cheapest. It also
discovered an interesting shift in priorities for
couples on where they spend their money. |

note that photo and video booths rank higher than
the more traditional wedding expenses of flowers and
car hire, highlighting the importance of the shift
towards social media. |
