Daniel and Majella to welcome new
grandchild

DANIEL O'Donnell is
looking forward to more grandad duties next year
when stepdaughter Siobhan welcomes her second baby.
The Donegal singer (55) described the announcement
as "the best piece of news" and said he looked
forward to the new infant’s arrival in January 2018. |
He and wife Majella
have been devoted grandparents to Siobhan and
husband Gavin Shield’s two-year old daughter Olivia
since her birth in 2015.
Daniel has on numerous occasions described the joy
the cute toddler has brought to their lives.
“Majella and I are going to be grandparents again.
Olivia, God willing, will have a little brother or
sister in mid-January,” the singer told fans via his
official website.
The country legend is currently on tour in Canada
following his first extensive Irish tour in nearly
four years.
He said he has picked up some new Irish fans since
his 18-month sabbatical in 2014 and he credits the
additional following to their travel show, ‘Daniel
and Majella’s B&B Roadtrip’. |

“…delighted that there
are a lot of people coming to the shows for the
first time which is amazing really after all these
years of touring.
“I think it has something to do with the B&B
roadtrip. It seems to have brought a new interest in
my music here in Ireland,” he said. |
