COMMUNITIES across
Inishowen are invited to "come out in force" for the
peninsula’s Big Clean Up on Saturday, April 7.
The clean up will take place from 10am until 1pm and
groups and businesses from all over the peninsula
are being asked to take part.
“This initiative has been taking place for a number
of years now,” said Inishowen litter warden Pearse
McCrory. He is organising the latest litter blitz
along with elected members of the Inishowen
Municipal District of Donegal County Council.
“We are asking everyone to make an extra effort this
year as it is a special year with the Dubai Duty
Free Irish Open coming to Ballyliffin in July and we
really want to have the peninsula looking its best
as we are expecting visitors and TV crews from
around the world to descend on Inishowen during the
Open," he said.
"Inishowen is also proving to be a popular
destination with visitors who want to come along and
see where the latest Star Wars movie was filmed and
of course to experience our stunning scenery along
the Wild Atlantic Way.” |
