THE 14th Local Artists
Art Exhibition will be taking place over the August
bank holiday weekend in the Colgan Hall, Carndonagh.
The exhibition preview will open on Friday, 3rd
August at 8pm with a wine reception and the
opportunity to meet some of the artists whose work
will be displayed. It will run daily until Tuesday
7th August.
Over 30 local artists from the Donegal/Derry area
will exhibit their work, along side international
names such as Sharon McDaid, Ros Harvey, Tim
Stampton and Barbara Allen. There will be over 100
original paintings on display in various mediums
such as oil, watercolour and acrylic. The exhibition
is now well established and grows in popularity
every year.
It is an unparalleled collection of local art
showcasing the work of established artists and also
offering emerging artists the opportunity to bring
their works to a public gallery.
This annual exhibition is held in aid of maintaining
a vibrant resource centre at the heart of our
community and to facilitate the ongoing development
of the Colgan Hall. It is an opportunity for the
community to showcase how these facilities have
developed over the years.
The exhibition is open to all who would like to call
in and experience this wonderful tranquil setting
and to view paintings from a wealth of local talent
in the area. On behalf of the Colgan Hall committee,
Chairperson Marian Hennigan announced that “we are
privileged to have this opportunity to present such
a diverse, rich and extensive range of exhibits and
would invite you all to share in this experience”. |
