Free beer for rubbish collectors
in Ballyliffin
29.06.18
FREE beer is on offer
this Sunday afternoon in exchange for rubbish
collected on an Inishowen beach.
The Bog Hopper Brewery is organising a clean-up of
Ballyliffin beach ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Irish
Open next week.
And they're expecting hordes of community-spirited
locals and visitors to take them up on the
challenge. There’s even a chance litter collection
time records could be set – and no folks – shells,
sand, seaweed or sunbathers won’t count as waste. |

The craft beer maker,
located in Muff, took to social media today, with
the 'volunteer for beer' promotion.
"Remember guys, we're giving away free beer this
Sunday! In preparation for the @DDFIrishOpen we're
organising a clean-up of Ballyliffin beach. One bag
of rubbish can be exchanged for one beer. All
gloves, bags and picker claws provided. We'll even
chill the beer," the company tweeted.
The challenge begins at 2pm and is open to over-18s
only.
Meanwhile, details of free shuttle buses have also
been announced to take spectators to and from the
top golf tournament from Thursday, July 5 to Sunday,
July 8.
Buses will travel each day from 6.30am to 12 noon
and 2pm to 7.30pm (8.30pm on Friday) between the
towns of Carndonagh, Clonmany and Buncrana and
Ballyliffin Golf Club.
It is hoped the complimentary transport will help
ease traffic congestion on the rural roads of the
Inishowen peninsula as up to 100,000 people are
expected to descend for the biggest sports events
ever held in the locality. |
