Letterkenny Fire Station Open Day
this Sunday 14.09.18
LETTERKENNY Fire
Station is hosting an open day on Sunday 16
September where the public are invited to come
along, meet the crew, check out the range of fire
engines and appliances and learn a bit more about
staying safe from fire.
Kevin Boylan, Firefighter with Letterkenny Fire
Brigade says that it is shaping up to be another
great day explaining “almost 400 people turned up to
our open day last year and we were delighted with
the response and decided to hold another one this
year."
"Not only will the public get a chance to meet our
own crew, there will be other emergency services
there including the Gardaí and the ambulance
service. We will also have a number of fire safety
demonstrations including the chip pan demonstration
unit, fire alarms as well as talks and advise on how
best to stay safe. We may even have a visit from
‘Fireman Sam’ always a popular choice with our
youngest visitors and there will be lots of
giveaways throughout the day.” |

“It should be a great
family day out and it would also be a great
opportunity for anyone with an interest in joining
the Fire Service to come along, see how we operate
and have a chat with some of the crew” said Kevin.
The open day is being held in lieu of the annual car
wash event which could not be held this year for a
number of reasons including the recent hose pipe
ban. All proceeds will be going to Donegal Hospice.
The open day will take place this Sunday 16
September from 2 to 4pm in Letterkenny Fire Station
and everyone is welcome. |
