MAG meet Fianna Fáil leader in Dublin 28.09.18

MICA Action Group (MAG) committee members, Micheal Doherty and Eamonn Jackson, travelled yesterday to Leinster House in Dublin to have a face to face meeting with Micheál Martin TD, Charlie McConalogue TD and Darragh O’Brien TD of Finna Fáil to discuss inclusion of a redress scheme for Donegal homeowners affected by defective blocks in the upcoming budget.
The leader of Fianna Fáil, Micheál Martin, confirmed that he will insist on redress for affected homeowners to be included as a line item in the 2019 budget.
The Mica Action Group is a voluntary group formed in early 2014 by individuals whose own homes are cracking due to defective blocks. The objective of the group is to seek redress for homeowners affected by this issue.
MAG committee members, Micheal Doherty and Eamonn Jackson meet with Finna Fáil leader, Micheál Martin TD, Charlie McConalogue TD and Darragh O’Brien TD.
MAG took the opportunity to impress on the TDs the significant influence Fianna Fáil has on the budget outcome and their role in ensuring this issue is allocated a line item in the upcoming budget.
Michael Doherty said: “We explained how time is of the essence and that we needed to see action now to address the dire situation Donegal homeowners are finding themselves in".
“Micheál Martin confirmed a number of times that he will ‘insist’ on the inclusion of redress in the 2019 budget".
“We also took the opportunity to invite the Fianna Fáil leader to Donegal to meet with homeowners and to see for himself the very difficult circumstances and stress homeowners are facing. MAG see this as a further step in the fight for redress and look forward to the publication of the budget with anticipation and increased optimism" said Michael.
