Holly Webb to visit Buncrana

BEST-selling children's
author Holly Webb will visit Inishowen next week as
part of Wainfest 2019. With over 100 books to her
name, Holly Webb is a firm favourite with children
all over the world.
Holly’s books centre around animals and children and
their very special relationship and she will be
visiting Buncrana Library on Tuesday 8th October at
4pm as part of this year’s festival.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring Holly Webb to
Inishowen as part of Wainfest 2019” said Donna
Cavanagh from Donegal Library Services. “Holly is
one of the top children’s authors in the world and
for children in Inishowen to have an opportunity to
meet Holly is a truly inspiring opportunity not only
for our budding writers but for those who love
Holly’s stories.” |

“Wainfest is all about
inspiring our children and allowing them to step
into a world filled with imagination, stories,
magic, history and heritage and instilling in them a
love of reading. Having an author of the calibre of
Holly Webb as part of Wainfest is a wonderful
opportunity for our children – they can meet their
favourite author, ask them their most burning
question and of course get their most-loved book
signed.” added Donna.
Wainfest kicks off on Saturday 5th and will run
until Sunday the 13th October with a full range of
events for all ages from tiny tots to teens. There
are craft activities, sensory storytelling and
theatre performances.
Wainfest Events in Inishowen include:
• Mr. Hullabaloo’s Storytime Treats - join Mr
Hullabaloo the magical storyteller and his colourful
puppet friends at Carndonagh and Buncrana Library on
Saturday, October 5th.
• Bricks4Kidz Lego Workshop at ICARE Buncrana on
Friday, October 11th.
• Song of the Sea (animated film) - tells the story
of Ben and his little sister Saoirse, the last
remaining ‘Seal-child’ at Inishowen Maritime Museum,
Greencastle on Friday, October 11th.
• Toddler Sense - classes are full of fun,
excitement and adventure at Carndonagh and Buncrana
Library on Saturday, October 12th.
• Vegetarian Brunch with the Henry Girls - a morning
of tastes and sounds at The Exchange, Buncrana on
Saturday, October 5th.
• FabLab Workshop - this hands-on workshop will
introduce participants to the concept of making
things using digital fabrication technologies at
Spraoi agus Spórt, Carndonagh on Saturday, October
12th.
• Messy Play - bring your toddler along to the messy
play event and indulge your little one’s imagination
and sense of adventure at Spraoi agus Spórt,
Carndonagh on Thursday, October 10th.
• Sensory Play - stimulates children’s senses via
touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing at Spraoi
agus Spórt, Carndonagh on Wednesday, October 9th.
