Discover what’s on your doorstep
15.07.20
AS the country moves on
to the next stage of its remarkable response to the
global pandemic, Donegal Tourism invites you to
discover what’s on your doorstep. With summer in
full swing, there has never been a better time to
explore the county and avail of a host of fantastic
bargains that are now on offer. From the immense
outdoor spaces and local amenities that are once
again accessible to the public, to the fantastic
promotions that many hotels and tourism providers
are now offering, it may be time to take the home
schooling outdoors or to brush up on your own local
knowledge and history of our great county. |
Cllr Rena Donaghey,
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council said “There
is so much to explore without leaving Donegal - our
amazing beaches, rugged coastlines, spectacular
landscapes, historic sites and monuments, and
welcoming offshore islands; not to mention our
fantastic food and accommodation offerings. In this
unprecedented era of Zoom quizzes and social media
challenges, perhaps it is time to set yourself the
challenge of visiting some of the world class
destinations that are closer than you think but were
perhaps too close to consider, or to ask yourself if
you have fully explored this amazing county
surrounding you.”
Donegal Tourism is now launching many fantastic
packages within their website to promote Internal
Tourism for those living in Donegal, who wish to
explore more of the county. These packages will
provide you with special rate offers on activities,
accommodation and food.
Once you have made the decision to get out and
about, be sure to take your camera to capture the
many magical moments you will experience. The
Go Visit Donegal Facebook page is running an
exciting new photography competition in which top
ten images will qualify for the 2020 Go Visit
Donegal Photograph of the Year Grand Final.
Prizes will include a Cannon Camera and five €100
vouchers for hotels in each municipal district in
Donegal – Redcastle Oceanfront Golf & Spa, Clanree
Hotel, Jacksons/ Villa Rose, Harvey’s Point and
Waterfront Hotel.
So now is the time to reconnect with our county, be
kind to others, respect social distancing, and
marvel at the wonders that are on our doorstep. For
