New homeless
prevention service in Donegal
10.03.21
NORTH West Simon Community
and Donegal County Council recently announced the
establishment of a new Homeless Prevention and Place
Finder Service, which aims to help people at risk or
experiencing homelessness in the county. The new service
aims to ensure that households at risk of homelessness
throughout the county are supported to find suitable
accommodation, have access to housing advice and
information, tenancy support and guidance, assistance
with housing applications and advocacy support to engage
with all relevant state agencies. |

The Place Finder service
will assist households to secure deposits and advance
rental payments, in consultation with the Department of
Employment Affairs and Social Protection or Donegal
County Council. Referral to the service is arranged
through the Donegal County Council Housing Department
located at your nearest local Public Service Centre.
The Donegal HAP Place Finder Service will provide
targeted support for households who are finding it
difficult to secure HAP tenancies and who are homeless
or at risk of homelessness.
North West Simon Community’s weekly Housing Information
Clinic also aims to help people avoid homelessness
through access to appropriate information and support.
The clinic may be contacted at any time on 074 91 21613
or by email at
letterkennyoffice@northwestsimon.ie . |
