PeacePlus public
consultation in Carndonagh
27.02.23
DONEGAL County Council
invites people in Inishowen to come along to a PeacePlus
workshop that will take place at Carndonagh Public
Service Centre on Tuesday 28th February 2023.
A launch event to mark the beginning of the PeacePlus
local community engagement process was held last
Tuesday. Three themes have been selected upon which to
design and develop the Donegal PeacePlus Action Plan:
• Local community regeneration and transformation
• Thriving and peaceful communities
• Building respect for all cultural identities
Speaking at the launch, Cathaoirleach Cllr. Liam Blaney
said: "This allocation for PeacePlus represents just the
latest instalment of funding from the EU through the
Peace Programme. Once PeacePlus concludes in 2027, that
will be a 32-year commitment from Europe to building
peace and reconciliation on this island and within this
county through the Peace Programme".
"I am delighted that we are here today to announce the
commencement of the co-designed local engagement
stakeholder process, which will allow our communities to
reflect their needs and priorities which will form the
basis for the development of Donegal’s PeacePlus Action
Plan." |
