CLEAN Coasts has announced
the winning photographers of the 14th edition of the
Love Your Coast photography competition. This year, with
a prize fund of €6,000, the competition attracted
hundreds of photographers from all around Ireland and
received a record number of over 1,300 entries. |

Stephen Dunbar, with his
'Humpback Feeding', captured in Broadhaven Bay, Co. Mayo
won the Photographer of the Year title and first place
in the Wildlife and the Coast category.
In 2023, Clean Coasts celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Since 2003, Clean Coasts has been working with
communities to help protect and care for Ireland’s
waterways, coastline, seas, ocean and marine life. Since
2010, the Love Your Coast photography competition has
been a celebration of all the beauty and uniqueness of
the Irish coast, that Clean Coasts volunteers work to
protect.
Several images taken in Donegal were shortlisted among
the top 10 across different categories in the
photography competition.
Darragh Gorman with his 'Electric Sea' taken in Donegal
Bay, and Zhi Jun Jin with the picture called 'Bad Eddie'
captured in Bunbeg were among the top 10 in the Coastal
Landscape Category.
Kathy Masterson, with her 'Bád Eddie', taken in
Magheraclogher Beach, and Michelle Duffy's 'Doe Castle
Views' were shortlisted in the top ten on the Coastal
Heritage Category.
Todor Tilev's 'At the Cave at Boyeeghter Bay' was also
shortlisted among the top ten in the People and the
Coast Category.
Finally Caoimhe Tyndall with 'Ringed Plover' taken in
Bundoran and Liam McLaughlin with 'Cormorant in Full
Mating Colours' taken at Inch Island made it to the top
ten in the Wildlife and the Coast category. |
