BUNCRANA Community
Combating Suicide (BCCS) is to host a series of
support meetings on how to cope with bereavement.
The three meetings entitled 'Understanding the
Grieving Process - Bereavement Support' will be held
in Buncrana in October and November.
BCCS chairperson, Breda Friel, said the aim of the
support meetings is to help clarify how bereavement
affects us and what steps can be taken to support
ourselves and our families following the death of
someone close.
"When someone close to us dies we feel sadness and
loss and the journey ahead can be a difficult one.
"We know that people react differently, but we are
also aware that there are some recognised stages of
grief that many people go through," she said.
The BCCS meetings will take place at the offices of
Inishowen Development Partnership, St Mary's Road,
Buncrana, on Monday 18th October; Monday 8th
November and Monday 29th November. The meetings will
run from 7.30pm-9.30 pm.
