Houston of Chic-Hens is to take part in a big
showcase of Donegal design starting next week.
Donegal Designer Makers, a group formed in late
2009, will hold a two-week “Summertime” exhibition
in Ardara from July 8 - July 22.
The event is sponsored by the Crafts Council of
Ireland and the exhibition will showcase the work of
the county’s leading designers and artisan craft
workers. The work of more than 10 artists, designers
and craftspeople will be on display in a vacant
retail space in the centre of the west Donegal town
and will include ceramics, jewellery, textiles,
woodwork, knitwear and furniture.
Shane will be exhibiting his range of colourful
wooden bird and hen houses, two of which were
purchased recently for the ‘Family Farm’ at Dublin
Zoo. The exhibition will be officially launched at a
wine reception at 7pm on Thursday, July 8 by Emer
Ferran from the Crafts Council of Ireland. |
