TRIBUTES were paid at Buncrana Town Council this
week to Donegal county manager Michael McLoone who
officially retires on July 1.
Speaking after manager’s business was concluded,
newly installed mayor, Cllr Padraig MacLochlainn
acknowledged Mr McLoone’s four decades of public
service.
He said Mr McLoone had made ‘an immense
contribution’ in all the posts he had held.
Describing the county manager as ‘one of the
greatest visionaries in public service’ in the
State, Cllr. MacLochlainn said he had always been at
the ‘heart of the process’ of local government.
Cllr MacLochlainn said while the county manager
could have ‘played it safe’, he instead always
pushed for change and innovation. |
