SHROOVE teenage soccer sensation, James Henry, has ended weeks of speculation by signing for Derry City Football Club.
The talented midfielder, who has spent the last few seasons lighting up Carrowmena in the Inishowen League, joins the Candy Stripes ahead of their First Division campaign.
Henry, who had attracted much interest of late, plumped for Stephen Kenny’s men, who are set to begin life in the eircom League Division One next month.
Speaking to the Inishowen Independent yesterday Carrowmena boss Raymond Dougal said he was sorry to lose his young star but delighted to see him progress.
“James is a tremendous player. He was won every accolade available to him in the Inishowen League. He is a great example to all young players here,” he said.
“His absence will leave a void at Carrowmena but we would never want to stand in his way. He gives 150% every week and I hope he goes on to an even higher standard. It would be great to see someone from the Inishowen League on the biggest stage. We have the players here to make it,”
Dougal also paid tribute to Henry’s technical ability and determination to succeed.
“James has all the attributes to

“With Derry City going through a transition period, James has every chance of making it into the first team.”
