09.03.10
CARN Community School
was the venue for this year’s Inishowen TAG Rugby
Festival.
More than 100 national school pupils from around the
peninsula took part in the event, aimed at boosting
participation in the game at primary school level.
The event was run by Donegal Project youth
development officers, Philip Brady, Johnny Quigley
and Adam Keys.
This was the second of six festivals due to take
place in March aimed at raising participation in
rugby and sport in general. |

"The event has no
finals or winners under the new IRFU policy of
focusing on participation and not result. This new
focus will aim to create more enjoyment for all of
the schools and pupils involved," said a
spokesperson.The organisers thanked Carndonagh
Community School for the use of their school pitch.
They also thanked Paul McCarroll, John Merritt (IRFC
President) Brian Harkin (IRFU Mini Manager) and
Shane McDermott for their support on the day. |
