MANY of Celtic’s first team stars will be in
Donegal next weekend to play a friendly against Finn
Harps as part of the John Kennedy Testimonial Weekend on
Sunday, November 28 next.
The squad includes former Derry City wingers, Niall
McGinn and Paddy McCourt plus rising star, Dubliner
Anthony Stokes, who recently fired in a hat trick in the
9-0 thrashing of Aberdeen. Giorgios Samaras, Gary Hooper
and Shaun Maloney will also be among Neil Lennon’s
high-profile Hoops on show at Finn Park.
Proceeds from the game will go towards charitable causes
across the county including the Donegal Hospice.
The young players of Finn Harps, having recently
completed their 2010 League Campaign with some
impressive results, will be looking forward to testing
themselves against Neil Lennon’s new-look Celtic side,
currently one point behind Rangers at the top of the SPL. |
The travelling Celtic party
will also include Parkhead Legend John Hartson, who is
in Donegal to launch the John Hartson Foundation in
Ireland.
Having experienced the ordeal of testicular cancer
himself, Hartson now aims to raise awareness about the
disease. For more info check out
www.johnhartson.co.uk .
Prior to the match there will be a Celtic huddle world
record attempt with local fans invited to come along to
be part of history.
There will also be a supporters dance in Jackson’s Hotel
on Saturday, November 27 with numerous Celtic figures,
including John Lennon and John Hartson, expected to
attend.
