CARNDONAGH will soon
get a new children's playground after work commenced
last week on the new facility at Clos Phadraig.
Cllr Charlie McConalogue welcomed the development
and said it would be a great boost to families with
young children.
"The new playground will be a welcome addition to
children's facilities in the Carndonagh area and
will be particularly beneficial to the many young
families living in the Clos Phadraig area on Malin
Road," said Cllr McConalogue, the Donegal Deputy
Mayor. |
Funding of €50,000 has
been secured from the Department of Environment and
Local Government for the project and the contractor
commenced initial ground works on site last week.
"The planning and design of the playground was
agreed after consultation with local residents and
parents whose efforts together with the Community
and Enterprise Department of Donegal County Council
have been essential in getting the project to
construction stage," |

added the
Gleneely-based councillor.
"It is expected that the necessary drainage and
paths will be installed before Christmas with the
play equipment to be installed in early January,
weather permitting. The new playground is expected
to be fully completed by the end of January.” |
