BUSINESSES in Inishowen
are being invited to tell the Government if they
have been refused credit by their banks.
Viable businesses can now use a new dedicated email
address established by the Department of Enterprise,
Trade and Employment to pass on information about
their experiences getting credit from their banks.
Donegal North East T.D., Deputy Niall Blaney
welcomed the move, saying it was vital that
businesses passed on this information so that
relevant departments got a full picture of the flow
of credit from banks to struggling businesses around
the country.
“This is just part of the Government’s ongoing work
under its Credit Supply Clearing Group to identify
specific patterns of events or groups of cases where
the flow of credit to viable businesses appears to
be blocked," said Deputy Blaney.
“The Clearing Group includes representatives of
small business, the banks and enterprise development
agencies and it will report to the Government on its
findings.
“I want to encourage viable businesses in Donegal to
make submissions to the Government via the email
address if they are having difficulty accessing
credit,” he added. The email address is
creditsupplyclearinggroup@entemp.ie . |
