There's still work out there - Job
Club
30.06.09
THERE are still jobs in
Inishowen despite the recession so job-seekers
shouldn't give up hope. That's the message from the
peninsula's Job Club which says some local employers
are still recruiting.
“There are still jobs out there. We continue to be
contacted by employers in Inishowen with a variety
of vacancies," said Job Club co-ordinator Marie
Monahan.
"Of course, not in the same numbers as was the case
over the past few years but what we are seeing are
changes in the terms and contracts. A job that may
well have been a full-time position last year may
now be cut back to a part-time vacancy.”
The Job Club, which marks its 10th anniversary this
year, is encouraging job-seekers to go along and use
the free services available to them. |

"We can give
job-seekers the edge needed in their application
when applying for jobs. Our highly experienced staff
will design a CV that professionally reflects
job-seekers' skills and experience, show how to
prepare and write a good cover letter or give
assistance to complete complicated application
forms," added Marie.
The local Job Club also |
provides aptitude test
training and mock interviews.
“This is the Job Club's tenth year in Inishowen and
over that time we have gained an excellent knowledge
of the questions that you will most likely be asked
at an interview and how to prepare your answer,”
adds Virginia Byrne.
Job Club programmes are run in Buncrana, Carndonagh
and Moville on an ongoing basis with one starting in
the Quigley’s Point area in the next few weeks. Job
Club headquarters in Buncrana have moved to new
offices - just across St Mary’s Road car park in the
former Carlin McLaughlin building. Drop in anytime
or call Aisling on (074) 9361376. You can also email
