Traders: 'Get ready for upturn'

DERRY will this week
host a free seminar designed to give local business
people some recession-busting tips. The ‘Get Ready
for the Upturn’ seminar will take place on
Wednesday, July 22 from 10am – 12 Noon in the
Guildhall.
The conference has been organised by Derry City
Council’s Economic Development team with a number of
partners including Invest Northern Ireland. It hopes
to provide a clear understanding of the range of
initiatives and advisory services available to local
businesses. |

Invest NI client
executive Leo Donnelly explained: “While many
business have, understandably, been focusing on
short term actions to help them through the current
downturn, it is important that they continue to look
to the longer term and ensure that they are equipped
to emerge |
as strongly as possible
when economic growth returns. Invest NI can offer a
wide range of support and guidance to new and
existing businesses with a desire to enter new
markets.”
The seminar will commence with short presentations
from Derry City Council, North West Marketing and
Invest NI. Leading business advisors will then be on
hand in the ‘Support Zone’ to offer advice on
programmes that might help businesses with forward
planning and how to identify opportunities.
The seminar is particularly aimed at existing
businesses; new entrepreneurs; rural businesses;
entrepreneurs looking for funding/ support and banks
and business consultancies.
