Carn sisters on top of the world
16.06.08
TWO Carndonagh sisters
are on top of the world after climbing the four
highest mountains in Ireland.
Josephine and Noreen McCallion took part in the Four Peaks
Challenge to raise money for Focus Ireland which
helps the homeless. |
"The challenge
consisted of climbing the highest mountain peaks in
each of the four provinces - Carrauntoohill in Co
Kerry, Mweelera in Co Mayo, Slieve Donard in Co Down
and Lugnaquilla in Co Wicklow. We did the four
mountains in three days," explained Josephine.
"Myself and my team had to raise €4,500 to compete
in the challenge. The people of Carndonagh were very
generous in sponsoring us, in particular |

during the race night
we held." The Carn women's team included pals Brenda Twohig from Cork, Deirdre O'Farrell
from Dublin and their "great drivers", Josephine and
Noreen's sister Siobhan and Brian Sinnott from
Wexford. "It was a fun, challenging but very
rewarding weekend," added Josephine. |
