Three injured in Greencastle crash 26.08.08

GARDAI are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Greencastle on Sunday night in which three teenagers were injured, two seriously. The accident happened around 9pm at Lower Drumaweir when the car rounded a bend heading in the direction of Greencastle village and struck the stone-clad wall of a private residence. Sections of the wall were demolished such was the severity of the impact.
A large crowd of young friends of the victims gathered at the scene just minutes after the crash. The collision sparked a major emergency as Gardai from nearby Moville, two ambulances and NowDoc personnel attended. The road was closed to traffic for Shocked friends gather around the injured as they await for ambulances to arrive.

Buncrana Garda Inspector Daniel Sweeney confirmed yesterday that three male teenagers, aged around 17 and from Redcastle, Greencastle and Culdaff, were travelling in the vehicle when it hit the wall. All three were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital, two with serious injuries and one suffering minor injuries.
